Happy Friday everyone!
What a busy day! Got up and cleaned the floors.... yep, they were DIRTY... then jumped in the car to go have new tires put on.

Oh my, what an ordeal that was! Can you believe that it can take someone a little over 2 hours to change four tires? Well, if you go to Pep Boys on 75th Ave and Peoria out here you will certainly find out, just like I did! I couldn't believe it...

Then we high tailed it to Wickenburg so that I could have my Aunt's quilt appraised.... Will get the written appraisal next week... can't wait. Then we stopped at Habitat for Humanity, a second hand store up there. Nice store! Lots of nice things too. They even had a Singer Featherweight sewing machine in a case, no extra feet though.... They wanted way to much for it, but when we checked out the gals at the counter said I needed to talk to Wade about it if I wanted it.... Nope, I'm happy with the one I have. We have a Habitat for Humanity store down here, too. We visit this one frequently and find lots of deals....

Then out to supper with friends. Peoria Cafe is the best fish fry in town and we always manage to take someone new there every so often. So tonight was the night. Then we came back here and I had to show off my favorite room. I know, what's new, right?

Now it is the end of the day and I am going to put this tired body to bed.
Have a great one and I'll see you all later!

Slacker on duty!

Good Evening everybody!
I forgot to post this at the end of March, so here it is now....
Boy, have I been a slacker lately. Here it is the end of March and my last post was the end of February.... this year is just marching right along.
Here is the latest quilt I made for a co-worker baby shower.

The pattern is one of Kaye's of course! With a different twist from me. I fussy cut each center and of course I just had to run out of some of my fabrics.... math just wasn't working for me that day.

This past month I have managed to get all of the star points done for my star quilt. I have not posted a picture yet because I want it to be a surprise when I do. I think it is very dramatic looking.
Another thing that I have started doing is going through our video tapes. What a hoot that is! We did a video with the kids on a trip to Gettysburg some years ago. Bratty kids anyways!
Tonight I re-arranged my closet in my room. I need to go through some of my fabrics and get rid of some yardage. I just need to get it all in one place before I start the sorting. I have lots of clothing fabric and grand plans on things I always wanted to make. My daughter can attest to that because there were things that I started for her many years ago that never got finished and some patterns were never used.
I have started swapping with my quilt friends online again. We did some embroidery blocks and this last swap was of 30's fabric and blocks. I have gotten some really nice blocks so far and I have a couple yet to get to me. I have yet to decide what I am going to make with mine, but I think these will be made into a quilt or throw just for me. I will put them all on my design wall and get a pic after I receive all of them.

I forgot to stop at Jo-Anns on my way home from work so needed an emergency trip to Wal-Mart. I needed the nylon strapping for the purse I made last night. Already have it on the purse! Yippee! Now just to get another one done, but not tonight.

Next 3 days off from work! Tomorrow is planned out with several errands and some fun. I will be getting Aunt Jenny's quilt appraised tomorrow and I can't wait to see what is said about her fantastic work. Not sure what is going to happen on Saturday, but hope to get into my sewing room for awhile....

Nothing else exciting on this home front, so shall call it a night!

As I sit here typing tonight I am listening to the 'boys' fly over. They are landing at the local Air Force Base. Some people around here complain about the noise, but I tell them 'thanks!' each time I hear them fly over. Their 'work' allows me to be able to say and do the things I want without looking over my shoulder...

Today was a good day. Got some house chores done then spent the rest of the day in my favorite room. I have lots of projects that I have started over the years (Yes, Julie I hear you about your dresses) and I pulled one of them out today and got it mostly done. I am trying to get a 'care package' together for my grand-daughters and this has been one idea that was put on the back burner before we moved. Now I think I shall get them done, at least as soon as I stop at Jo-Anns on my way home from work tomorrow :)... Can you believe with all of my stash I wasn't able to find what I needed???? Yeah, go figure...

My plans were to get some thing photographed so I could update my Artfire site. Well, that got waylaid again... My photos are ok, but I really want to get better at taking them.

I also put some more of my pictures up on our walls. As I have emptied boxes and found pictures I put them aside so I could plan where I wanted them hung. The sad part is that thinking about them doesn't get them up on the wall.... I started using those Command strips and they work great! No holes in the wall and if I put them in the wrong spot, easy to move! I started using them in the Sun City house because the outside walls were block and there was no way I could use nails there. Now that there is more stuff on the walls it makes it more 'homey'....

Now, I am headed to bed. I hope everybody has a great day tomorrow!

Good Evening everyone!
Boy, I can't believe that it has been so long since I have posted. I kept thinking I'd get to it 'later'.... yeah, right :)
Tonight Carl & I munched on BLT sandwiches for supper with tomatoes that we grew ourselves... Yeah, this year we planted more plants and we will be getting more tomatoes too! These plants really took off. We also put in some other plants in a little area out back. We have onions, cukes and wax beans planted. We are not sure if we will get anything off of them, but we shall see.

Other than that I have been quilting as usual, but that is going slow. I have 3 that I need to get done. One of which is close enough to get on the frame and quilt. The other 2 are in the still 'need more work' stage.

I did manage to get the garage re-arranged a couple weeks ago. We aren't parking the cars in there yet, but I can get to things. I need to get some boxes sorted and have a garage sale. I have lots of other peoples treasures out there that they need to come get..... I'll let you all know when you can come pick up your treasures.

Good Morning!
I just can't believe that the second month of the year 2012 is almost at an end! I keep thinking of what I haven't accomplished this month.... I really should concentrate on what I did accomplish instead. We have a new couch for the living room and it looks so inviting in there, I have played on my mid arm, Mr. Stretch and have him almost ready to work on some of my older projects, I have attended another one of Kaye's classes (and finished the project that day too!), I have increased my stash by about 60 yards of fabric (all courtesy of estate/garage sales), and I have gotten some of my pictures up on my walls. That is only a part of what I have accomplished this month, the part I can remember anyways.... I suppose I need to get on the road for work, not that I want to today, but the paycheck next time around will really appreciate it.....
 Until next time,

Good morning everyone!
What a beautiful day it is here today. Sun is shining and it is getting warmer without a lick of snow around.

As I was drying my hair just now I was thinking about this past week. On Friday the Phoenix Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival was at the fairgrounds and Estelle went with me. Of course there is way to much 'stuff' to take in, but I was on a mission to get a few things. Estelle even found a few things that she liked. Anyway, as I was thinking about that day my mind wandered to my Mom and her last Christmas with us. Mom had a handicap and was a stubborn person and would not ride in a wheelchair. She had 'bad feet' and had a difficult time walking for any length of time. We tried (the family, that is) to get her to sit in a wheelchair so that she could go with us when we went different places, but she refused. But this last Christmas my sister managed to talk her into riding around the mall to do her Christmas shopping. From what I remember my sister ended up with the 'bad feet' that day. Mom had been to the mall shopping numerous times, but confined her shopping to one or two stores. She had never been from one end of the mall to the other. You can imagine the fun she had seeing it for the first time. Of course she had to at least 'run' through each of the little stores between one end to the other, even if it was just to 'look'.... I am so glad that Mom enjoyed that day and I am forever thankful for Estelle, for her willingness to be 'wheeled' around and going places with me. Thanks, Estelle!
