Reading!

Since I bought my first KindleFire last year I have to say it is much easier to go 'shopping' and go 'to the library' with the thing. I have always been an avid reader (avid is relative LOL) my whole life and this little gadget makes it so much easier. I am able to just pop it in my purse (or pocketbook if that is your word) and go. It doesn't require a light (it lights up each page) that shines in other's eyes, no noise when turning pages and the books don't need a large bookcase or 2 or 3 to be stored. It also saves the trees. So, with all that in mind I have gained a LOT of books. Some years ago I had to decide how to limit my books because of space and money so to accomplish this I limited the number of authors by only looking or buying 3 of my favorites. Now that the space isn't an obstacle I have added to the list. Recently I went to 'A Chocolate Affaire' in Glendale, AZ and met one of several local writers. From that I have expanded to another author, Amanda Renee. I am linked to the Harlequin American Romance Authors blog and get their monthly blogs from the different authors. Amanda happens to be the one who wrote this months and it just jumps out and grabs you if you are into this type of reading. So if anybody like westerns and romance this one is for you! So grab a book or your Kindle or Ipad and relax and enjoy a good read!

Finally downloaded pics from my phone!

This is what it looks like out here when it storms.

This is what it starts out like.

This is what is left behind after a dust storm.

One of the sites on my way to work. Part of this field was just cut, another section had been raked and another there was bales all in perfect rows.

Another pic of the hay field.

Just sharing a little bit of my life and sites I see everyday. Today they were saying that it was suppose to rain, but it just got cloudy. Lots of people love it when it rains, but I don't. I miss the sun when it rains. At least when it does rain it doesn't usually last very long.

For information on my quilt classes scroll down a little and you will find the post. For those that are in the Phoenix, AZ area come on over and take a class. All levels of ability welcome!

Mother-Daughter

This past weekend we went to visit my sister and her daughter and I had to get a couple pictures.

This is my big? older? sister. She is the 'old lady' of the family now.

Here is my niece, Chris or legally Clarissa (named after the 'other' sister).

Each one of Mom's 'kids' had 1 daughter. Chris was the 'first' grand-daughter. As we sat chatting we had a discussion when the 'grand-kids' were born. Other than the first 2 and last 3 grandkids there was 3 grandkids born within a year each time one daughter or daughter-in-law was pregnant so it is hard for me to remember who was born when.

Time sure does march right along. I can remember when I use to babysit with this kid and now she has grand-kids of her own...

Here are a couple sites that I pass on my travels.

Here is a field of flowers that I pass on my way to work. It is amazing how quick these bloom. It was a little less than 2 months ago when they were planted. The next field is hay and they have cut and baled it a couple times since these flowers were planted. They change each field 4-6 times a year.

This is the overpass of Loop 303 connecting to Rt 10 west of Phoenix, AZ to Rt. Progress in action. It will be nice when it is done because Loop 303 hooks up on Rt 17 on the north side of Phoenix before the heavy 'town' traffic and is going to hook up with I-10 west of Phoenix and 'town' traffic. It will help the traffic going from Flagstaff, AZ to Los Angeles, CA and back. The only sad part is that I am sure there will be stores and businesses that will suffer for the bypass, but others will pop up along the new route to take their place.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
Until next time,
