Life around me.

I love looking at the White Tank Mountains. They are just west of us and I drive toward them going to work and church. We get really weird cloud cover when it is monsoon season and this is what the White Tanks looked like last weekend. The whole valley was covered with clouds.

This is looking southeast.

This is looking east with the White Tanks behind me.

Earlier this year we had to say goodbye to an old friend. We picked up this 1989 Dodge Omni in 2009. This little friend got us to work many a day as well as taking us all over the valley for fun. We sure do miss running around in this car, but as with all good things this too ended.

Finally downloaded pics from my phone!

This is what it looks like out here when it storms.

This is what it starts out like.

This is what is left behind after a dust storm.

One of the sites on my way to work. Part of this field was just cut, another section had been raked and another there was bales all in perfect rows.

Another pic of the hay field.

Just sharing a little bit of my life and sites I see everyday. Today they were saying that it was suppose to rain, but it just got cloudy. Lots of people love it when it rains, but I don't. I miss the sun when it rains. At least when it does rain it doesn't usually last very long.

For information on my quilt classes scroll down a little and you will find the post. For those that are in the Phoenix, AZ area come on over and take a class. All levels of ability welcome!

August Already!

Seven months of the year 2012 is gone, gone, gone! I can not believe it! It seems as though it was just yesterday that we went to Sea World in California!!!

Oh well, onward and upward.... Onward in time and upward in age.... LOL!

I updated the progress on the Temple this past week....

Last weekend we ended up getting 2 dust storms in 2 days. On Saturday we were at a church function and decided to get home a little early and it was a good idea that we did. We were just about to the car when we looked up and saw this---

Then we drove through this to get home.

Then this is what we saw coming towards us the next day at the house.

And this is the storm marching right along.....

So, what do you think about our storms? Yeah dirty!

I'm just glad that the garage sale was over when these hit. This weekend I finished getting all the stuff cleaned up in the garage and Carl got all of the left over stuff hauled away. We actually have both of our cars in the garage tonight! Yahoo!!!! I still have totes to go through, but it is much better than it was a couple weeks ago.

Now I am off to post some stuff on Craig's list. I have posted on Freecycle already, so maybe a few more items will go down the road before next weekend! One can hope LOL!

Until next time,

Happy Wednesday!

My day just slipped right on by while I was sitting in front of the computer loading some items on Artfire. I knew that it would take me forever! I had to work on the shipping charges and that takes even longer than writing descriptions and titles.... I will be at it again on Friday.

While I was out for a few minutes this afternoon I was watching the dark skies roll in with lots of wind and no signs of rain. The other parts of the valley got wet, but not us.... Pretty lightening though....

When we moved to our new digs we gave up our DirectTV, so now we watch our favorite programs on the computer. Tonight we were watching Adam 12 and Dragnet. It is so much fun to see the cars and see the old styles. Some of it really gives us a good belly laugh. Neither one of us really likes the new shows that are on, so we haven't missed the TV...

Well, tomorrow is a work day, so I need to get to bed. I hope all of you have great night!

See you tomorrow!

End of another month!!

Well, good evening everyone!!

Tomorrow is the end of another month in the great year of Twenty-Ten. I sure wish someone would put the brakes on!! I guess I just need to set more goals. There was a  hint on one of the forums that I am on that suggested that you set a timer for 20 minutes and just work on one thing. It doesn't matter if you actually do anything physical with what ever you have picked, you just have to do it for 20 minutes. Maybe it is just going through your quilt books looking for a pattern, or sorting your fabrics---the idea is to just do it! Another idea for clean up was to use 4 yardsticks, form a square with them and clean just what is in that square. Before you know it everything will be clean! Both are great ideas that I just might give a try!

It has been quite nice around here until the past couple of days. The wind has been blowing and stirring up all kinds of dust! Can't get out and walk for exercise and barely able to go from work to the car it's so nasty out. When it gets like this it's hard to see the mountains that surround us. Just kinda' dark lumps on the horizon.

Onward to the quilting progress. It seems as though I have less and less time to get into the sewing room. Right now I have a quilt on the wall that I promised for a grand-daughter to go on her bed in her new bedroom. I hope I will be able to get the last border cut and on this weekend. Then the joy of quilting, but first I will have to get my frame level. The last quilt I did on the frame I just did a quick level job on and I need to do something more permanent. You get one area level and it throws off another area. It just takes time and patience to get it done and I have been in short supply of time since we moved in here.

I started working at the office full time this week. Just until we hire another MA (medical assistant). This training is the pits!!! I no sooner get someone trained and I have to do it over again. I guess I had better get use to it because my doc wants to have 'externs' (we knew them as 'interns') in the office. We have had 4 so far. Some are good, some are okay, so we shall continue to search to find the good ones to join our office.

Well, I am off. It is time for me to get some sleep.
