Updating internet sites

I have been sitting around the house since our move so I decided this would be a good time to be working on all of my internet sites. I don't know about anybody else, but after I set up a site I just figure that the links will never change and don't even think about checking them. 

What started all of this internet updating was when I realized that you have to type in the whole business name on ArtFire for their search engine to find the business you want. That's when I decided to shorten my ArtFire name and I went from 'CoyoteQuiltsandSpecialties' to 'CoyoteQuilts'. Of course that generated a new link. Then tonight as I was looking around my blog I realized that I should check links here. Of course I found several links no longer valid as well as my ArtFire link.  

I understand why online businesses hire someone to do all of their internet posting after all the hours I have put in the past couple of weeks. 

Now that I have the computer stuff done I need to get behind my sewing machines and get busy. I wonder what I will be working on next......

We have arrived and so has everybody else.

We arrived at the house in Tennessee on April 4th, but we didn't have any internet at the house so posting anything didn't happen. Since then Julie and family have landed and we have been learning how to blend 2 families. I get hugs and kisses every day and enjoy every minute. Today was first day of school in Tennessee and of course there was problems with the alarm, so everybody got up late....

Third day of travel

Today we started the day by seeing the sun rise as we traveled east.

These trees show how much the wind blows in the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma. The picture is blurry because the road was so bumpy and the wind was blowing again....  

Vincent and his family are in Arkansas and we were thankful to spend a few minutes with them.

Then we got to visit one of my favorite places to relax.

Now it is time to get some sleep to get ready for our last leg of our trip tomorrow.

Second day of travel

We made it to Amarillo, TX tonight. I wasn't sure that we would make it after battling the wind all day. Not only did we have to fight the wind I also managed to drop my cell phone in a parking lot and had to go back about 10 miles to find it. Of course it was run over by a vehicle and it gives me more letters than what I punch when texting, but it still works! At least I have all my addresses and phone numbers that are not any place else.

This is the wind mixed with a little dust that we drove through for several miles.

First day of travel

Today is the first day of our next adventure! I forgot to put my camera in the truck so the picture I want is on my phone. Of course I hate downloading from my phone so that will happen later. Until then, here is a site that I'm sure we won't be seeing for quite some time.

This is what you see on the roadside while traveling up route 17 from Phoenix to Flagstaff. I will miss my cactus!

It is the end of this adventure and the start of another.

Almost 20 years ago I dragged my husband (then boyfriend) across the country from New York to start our new adventure in Arizona. Now we are starting another adventure. We are going to miss the many friends that we have made over these years, but look forward to meeting new ones. I love the thought of being closer to my daughter and family, but sad leaving a son and daughter and their families behind. The favorite haunts we go to time and again will be replaced with new haunts that we hope to find. I will miss the comfort of my job by knowing from one day to the next what is expected of me, yet looking forward to getting challenged with something different.

So, for now we sit in the middle of the mess called moving, awaiting our departure to our 'new adventure'. Every surface is covered with something that needs to be 'packed', but has yet to find a box. The spare bedroom is stacked with filled and taped boxes with more boxes laying on the floor waiting to get filled with little room left to fill them. The formal living room is full of  'garage sale', the garage is filled with car, garage sale and filled totes. Rugs are rolled up, closets are almost empty, kitchen is partially packed and it's hard to find a towel to dry anything. LOL! The only 2 rooms not really touched are (guess one :)), our bedroom and my quilting room.

Good Morning America!

On a corner not far from home is a retirement trailer park that flies a huge American Flag. I see this flag three of the four mornings on my way to work. Some mornings there isn't any wind, others the flag is just about straight out from the flag pole. This morning Carl and I went out and took pictures of this flag as the sun rose. When we first set up there wasn't any wind at all and as the sun rose it was like the flag was saying, 'Good Morning'! I have had a fascination with large flags every since I drove cross country with my mother and father-in-law back in 1991. The first really large flag I saw was from the table in a motorhome in Oklahoma City. I still remember the feeling I had when my eyes landed on that flag. I still get the same feeling and reflect what it means to me and this country. We also live not far from Luke Air Force Base and as I write this I can hear the jets flying overhead as they head out for training. Some around here just complain about the noise, but each and every time I hear them I have to say a silent, 'Thank you' to those that are working so hard and have volunteered to defend our country, our flag. So, thank you to all military past, present and future for doing what you do! Now here is how this flag greats each morning.
